Old buildings, chawls are there in most part of Mumbai and covered under Bombay Rent control act. The owners of these buildings are benefiting only basic old rent which is not equal to market rent. Could these landlords increase the basic rent? And if yes how? Please explain in details. Please do not give answer in ‘yes’ or ‘no’ words otherwise I would report the same.
