What are the legal safeguards that we have in this issue? Does the law term it as "illegal"?

Law does not provide any facility in this regard.
there is no law to favour Immoral activities.

Does that mean an unmarried copule, of adult age, have no provisions to have s*x freely, according to Indian Law? How does then the "Right to Live" apply?
Kiran Kumar (Lawyer) 28 October 2012
who has stopped you from performing s*x.
you may do it at your home, but you are not allowed to create nuisance or obscenity in the society.
Do you think there shall be a law to facilitate your s*xual desires.
law does not permit you to open brothel
go through the Immoral Trafficking Act to know the legal aspects.

Short answer without making moral judgments is yes, so long both are consenting adults and the acts are done in total privacy. Where you do? You are the best judge to decide, it can be your home, rooftop, hotel room, rented premises etc. Crux is the place should be your "private space", whether owned or hired is immaterial. The is a related Supreme Court judgment and related matter is already discussed in detail in this thread https://www.lawyersclubindia.com/forum/live-in-with-my-boyfriend-26644.asp Please go through it.

1. Ensure both are consenting and are adults.
2. If you want to avoid charges of adultery under Section 497 of IPC then prefer unmarried over married.
3. The acts should be done in "private" place/space.
4. If you are doing in hotel rooms etc., there can be some secret web cameras etc. already installed. Take precautions accordingly. Similarly hotel reciepts/payment details may leave your and your partner's name, address, phone numbers and other personal or private details etc. in their records. These records may be accessed by undesirable persons later. Take precautions accordingly.
5. Take social precauations from the social moral brigade.
