Role of a lawyer in mcd

Respected Experts,

This is a question on behalf of my friend.

After filing a Petition for MCD in the court, what is the role of Lawyer? Do we need the lawyers from both the parties? Can one Lawyer be shared by both the parties? What are the Pros & cons of having single lawyer in case of MCD.

If both the parties are educated enough and understand the agreement reached between the parties, there is no necessity even for one lawyer.  If they feel uneasy to go through the procedure of the court, only one lawyer will do. If any one of the parties has doubt anout interpretatin of agreement reached, then better to have one's own advocate.

At no stage it is necessary to hire a lawyer. Anyone can represent himself/ herself in court of law.
