Back side must not write any text and signature. If you do so, it is invalid

Ramachary Sir,

"Back side must not write any text and signature. If you do so, it is invalid"

Why one cannot write back side of e-stamp/bond paper any specific reason or there is any rules can you explain.

Advocate Ravinder (Advocate/Attorney)     31 May 2014

Back side of the Bond paper is meant for putting rubber stamps and signature of the parties.  There will be 4 to 5 types of rubber stamps, hence the whole page is required to put rubber stamps.  Hence, when the document is to be registered the matter should be typed only one side.

But sometimes, if the document is not to be registered, the matter can be written backside also.  But it is not recommended.  The parties should sign on both sides of the paper. Merely by writing on backside will not take away your right in the document.

Hi Sir , Thanks.....Document is not registered. We had written by hand on both sides. Both parties signed back side only and front side only matter written. Please advise wheather its vailid or not ? Thanks in advance...

There should be connectivity of the front side matter and backside matter.  You have to convince the court.  No problem. Hire a good lawyer.

Better show the document to a good lawyer, who can advise accordingly. If only signatures are there in the back side, it may not stand as evidence in court.

Hi Sir,Thanks for quick response..Both Matter and signatures are there in back side.

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate)     01 June 2014

The parties signatures are to be affixed in the front side too to prove its authenticity.  No doubt the unregistered stamp paper loses its validity before the court.

@ Ravinder, Thank U Sir
