salary in notice period

Hi.....I am teacher in a private school in probation period. In my appointment letter it was mentioned by the Principal that if I leave school in mid year I will have to forgo my 2 months salary plus serve 2 months notice period. Now that I have put up my resignation letter the principal is refusing to pay me in my notice period. Kindly suggest what can I do about it.
