WHO CAN CLAIM MAINTENANCE UNDER SEC 125 OF CRPC ?

The following person can get maintenance under sec 125 of Crpc:-

1. Wife of a person who is unable to maintain herself.

2. The legitimate or illegitimate Minor Child of a person who is unable to maintain himself/herself.

3. Parents(Mom & Dad) whether natural or adoptive of the person who are unable to maintain themselves.

Both the mother and the father, whether natural or adoptive, can claim maintenance from any one or more of their children. Daughters are also liable to pay maintenance to the mother and the father. A step-mother can claim maintenance only if she is a widow and does not have natural-born sons or daughters.

no grandson is liable to pay maintenance to the grand parents they can get it from the daughter.
