Self acquired vs Ancestral property

Properties acquired by grandfather where father got separated with his brothers through oral partition of grand father properties after death of grandfather. Does property becomes self acquired property or ancestral property of father from there. Can anybody enlighten on this. Because there are different versions on this aspect.

if property is of grandfather then it is a self aquired property and after his death property shal devolve upon sons of grandfather, grandmother.

If father doesn't partition and he remains just as a coparcener with his brothers as joint tenant . Then it becomes self acquired or ancestral.

The property is self aquired only as it is not descended from 4 generations.
