Surrender of lapsed din

If one director has 4 DIN & wanted  old first one DIN to be retained & other 3 DIN to be surrendered

but those 3 DIN (Which is  required to be surrendered) status's is showing lapsed on MCA Master Data  then

1)Is it necessary to do procedure of surrendering  by making application (DIR-5) for surrender of those 3 lapsed DIN ?

OR

2)Are those 3 Lapsed considered as surrendered DIN?

Hello Aesha Safi,

You need to file Form DIR-5 that is to surrender your DIN for each one of them obtained later compared to the oldest DIN you possess. Also, the DIN which was generated first and is the oldest shall be your original DIN.

You can check the status using the 'Enquire DIN Approval Status' option available under the 'Director Identification Number' link on the home page of the MCA portal (www.mca.gov.in) Contact them, they do respond to the query well.

Also, the search portal on the MCA can be used to know whether the DIN you filed DIR-5 for are surrendered or not as one can get details of a particular director through the DIN.

Hope this helps.
