Tenant absconding

I and my tenant entered into a leave and license agreement for 11 months starting 15-09-2017. We got this agreement registered with the sub registrar's office. This is for my flat in Pune, Maharashtra. Now last week this tenant along with his family ran away from the flat after committing some forgery with some people staying in the same building. What options do I have with me to retain the flat as I have another set of flat keys with me ? When can I enter the flat after opening the lock & give it on rent to some other person? Please respond soon as I'm worried a lot.

Since the agreement is still in existence better way you should file suit for cancellation of agreement, give reason that the tenant abscounding. Sned legal notice on the address mentioned in agreement and proceed with matter.

Hello thanks for the reply. Is there a need to file a suit if I wait till the expiry of the agreement?

Can I open the flat to check if any items are missing ? I have a set of duplicate keys with me.

Regards
