That is why, the seller must immediately send a copy of sale intimation to RTO.  Atleast now send a legal notice to purchaser and with a copy to RTO and insurance company immediately, that the vehicle was sold on a particular day, and that inspite of your follow up purchaser is not converting the RC in his name and for doing it as expeditiously as possible.

This is a serious thing, if the vehicle is caught in a criminal activity, the entire blame has to be shared by Registered owner.  Act as immediately as possible.

Hope you have the copy of sale letter.

Inform the RTO immediately. If I recollect correctly, there is a specified form for sale of vehicle that you have to send to the RTO. Protect yourselves immediately. Contact an Advocate to protect yourself. This is a very very serious matter

Mr Goel, This kind of vehicles specifically are used for doing all illegal activities in the country. It is the responcibility of the seller in relation to any immovable property sale that if there is any registration or licence is governing the holding the property that should also be changed to the buyer's name.

You are rwquired to immidiatly send a legal notice to the buyer for getting it transferred in his name with the cc to the concerned RTO office for immidiate action from their side along with the notatized copy of the form 25  and a copy of the consideration money received by you of the sale. Please note this will attract IT return also in youe name if the vehicle is sold out on higher prises after deduction of the depriciation on vehicle.

Act fast but all purchasers may not be crooks, but seller must take precautions.  May be those people who wish to resll after a year or two, to avoid expenses resort to this practice.  But one must take precautions in his own interest and do not apprehend any danger immediately, there is such a possibility, which you can avoid.
