Want to know about lok adalat is good or not for me

Before 2 yrs I lent 2.5 lakhs to my friend and till now he didnt paid the interest or the total amount. I filed a moneysuit against him for this to pay me the amount with interest. In court they asked for time but the judge did not gave time. So they asked for mutual agreement thing in court as lok adalat. When I went their a senior person listened to both of us and asked him to settle 2.5 lakhs within a month. Next meeting will be after 2 weeks. My doubt is that is it beneficial to me or not. Can I settle for this amount or we can go to court itself. I think taking just the total amount without interest is totally good for the other party. But for me what is the use

Lok Adalats are held by Judges only  and is a fast track method of dispute resultion. Not only court fee is nominal on property/money suit but Order of Lok Adalat can only be appealed in High court. You sabe time as first appeal is removed.
