Was dhnanjay chatterjee hanged by mistake?

Was Dhananjay Chatterjee given death sentence by mistake? Was he a scapegoat of a larger conspiracy?

Why not express your own opinion and also make a mention with what specific concern of yours and object you have raised this question.

By posing the question Distressed P S has already expressed his opinion and also how he was concerned with the question.

Mr. Ramani,

Would you kindly oblige me to make clear, what exactly you could understand from the question about the opinion and the aim of the author, himself, in asking his question?

Question was, the evidences suggest that Dhananjay Chatterjee was innocent but was made a scapegoat. Question was about others opinion in that matter. Evidences are presented in the blog.

Distressed PS had made it clear now. His opinion was clear even before. Based on the evidences presented here can one say that Dhananjay Chatterjee did not commit the crime or rather that he could not have committed the crime. Plainly I do not know. There was also another question. Should he have been given the death penalty? Would a lesser punishment like life imprisonment not have been enough? EEC countries have abolished death penalty. India, the country of Mahatma Gandhi has not abolished it yet. I pose the question should not India abolish death penalty? The Supreme Court has said that the death penalty should be awarded only in the rarest of rare cases. What is the meaning of that? Does it mean that the crime should be very beastly to earn the death penalty. Or does it mean that the Supreme Court (all death penalties have to compulsorily go to Supreme Court for confirmation) should mostly award or reduce to lesser sentence and the cases where the Apex court confirmed or awarded death sentence should be very very rare. Now let us take the case of Ajmal Kasab. He killed many people with his machine gun. Why did he do that? Was he so selfish and depraved? No, he was thinking that he was doing a task ordained by Allah. Suppose his punishment was reduced to life imprisonment. The authorities will always be on tenterhooks because at any time a plane could be hijacked demanding his release. Supreme Court cannot give this as a reason for keeping him alive in prison. If catching terrorists alive doesn't become rarest of the rare, awarding death penalty will not be either. Let us not do shadow boxing. Now coming back to Dhananjay Chatterjee his last mercy petition was rejected by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, then President, a peaceful saintly person.

No comments justified, when not gone through the whole case files of all the three courts including the HC & SC. Of course, one thing is certain that biases and prejudices are formed and deformed to work in justice system more due to the media trials from day one.

So, nothing can be said, particularly, when the defence side lawyer failed to effectively convince the judiciary in the case.

Dhananjay Chatterjee was a petty care taker... really dunno how he could pay for legal fees at HC...I know how LalBazar works... had the honour to visit  the Cyber PS.... IO kept on dragging the case for 4 years without even IP matching and CFSL giving a clean chit ( its discharged now ).... I'm saying this as case is different but status of complainant is same ( too influential ).. and yes... those were the days of reds !!! remember how Rizwanur Rahman was killed ???
