What is happening with BCI over Bar Exam?

What is happening with Bar Council of India regarding Bar Exam, it appears that Bar Council of India is blowing hot and cold. what does it mean that the candidate can practice and again asking them to appear Bar Exam? Once they the candidates joined the legal fraternity as a practicing advocates why on earth should they be asked to appear Bar Exam, moreover when is the Exam going to be conducted? Either they appear Bar Exam or they dont and allow them to go for full practice and this attitude of the BCI is unecessarily wasting the time of those candidates passing out in 2009 and 2010. Can some one comment on this?

BCI exams are over for the first time all over India except at Chennai. There because of student's agitation exams could not be conducted as proposed. They are now postponed. Otherwise those who have passed BCI entrance can practice, and those who have not, have to clear it in next time exam scheduled in June.

Thanks Suchitra dear, is it also true that those candidates who has not pass the Bar Exam can practice after making  an undertaking with the BCI to pass the Bar Exam within two years?

Not two years. They cannot practice till they pass their exams. But the fact remains how and whether  Courts check if they have passed or not.

Thank you very much my dear. In fact I was in the dark about this Bar Exam and was confused. This is the worth of being in LCI. Consider this, if a candidate practise in the Court without pasing Bar Exam and the Court allows thm to appear in the Court who will be at fault? the Court or the candidate appearing before the Court? Could you kindly highlight  it?

I do not think BCI has made foolproof efforts to curb advocates from practicing without passing the exam. And moreover, what loss is there if they work either? Do you mean to say all those are working are more capable than these people in any way?

Sorry.. I meant to say, "BCI has NOT made efforts"..
