Wife's right to husbands property during divorce

Hi,

I had filed a divorce a three years ago.  I have an apartment which I'd purchased around 5 years ago (before the marriage).  I have not taken the possession / registered this apartment and we were staying in a rented premises.

Can my wife have any right/claim to this property?  The entire investment was done by my father and myself, with absolutely no contribution from my wife/in-laws.  We also did not take any dowry.

Please suggest.

regards,

Dont worry legally wife has no right in husbands property unless she has invested any amount towards the purchase.

Have you disclosed legally that u have also invested in purchase of the flat. ? suggestion will be based on this vital info

Hi Born Fighter,

Yes I have and infact, I've purchased it on a 20 years loan, and even am jobless for the last three years.  My father and myself are the sole investors

If ur jobless u must have shown NO income to the court, then ur saying ur contributing for home loan from contract jobs. Pls come with true facts. what is salary disclosed by you to the court ? what is the maintenance awarded by court to wife (kids if any). What is ur wifes demand in terms of settlement amount.
