Will execution

My father has handwritten his will with two witnesses.But it is not registered. According to the will the house is for me.If my sisters disagree how can I transfer the house to my name?

It is not mandatory to register the WILL.

Even unregistered WILL (but Valid)  can be executed and acted upon.

Even registered WILL can be contetsed.

In presidential towns it is mandatory to probate the WILL.

WILL is last wish of testator and is supreme.

After the demise of testator the beneficiary can submit the certified copy of the WILL and death certificate, to the authority under whose jurisdiction estate/property falls, alongwith prescribed forms, enclosures.

 

The authorioty may ask to release advertisement in newpapers.

If contetsed WILL need to be probated.
