I want to apply for Passport. However, I do not have any of the address proofs mentioned in the passport office's website.
I have been living in Bangalore since 2007 but have always lived in rented houses. I have been living in the current house for a month now and only have a rental agreement as proof. I do not have any proofs for my previous residence as the rental agreement was not a registered agreement. The address on my postpaid mobile connection was of a place I lived 2 years ago.
My permanent address is in a Taluk in Udupi district of Karnataka. I grew up here but my parents have moved from the house that I grew up in. My DL still has the address of the old house that my parents lived in. The new Ration card does not have my name yet (the old one had my name along with the old address).
When I called up the passport toll free number, they said they cannot accept a certificate from the tehsildar or an affidavit as proof of address.
Could you please help me with what can be done in my situation as I am desperate to get my passport done.
