Bought property by notary not registered

Hi all,

i am from varanasi UP. 8 years ago I bought residential land in my village from my uncle. The land is an ancestral property i.e. my uncle got this land from grandfather during partition. At that time due to some reason it was not registered and it was certified by notary only. during this period of 8 years neighter my uncle nor his son claimed any right on this land. But now uncle's son want to get back the above land. But my uncle is ready to register the land to me.

can it be registered now.  I want to know that what are my rights on the above land even if my uncle refuse to register. What will happen if they go to court to get the land back.

I request you all to help me with your valuable advice.

thanks and regards

the document is a compulsorily registerable document.  hence the document notarised is not valid.  your uncle son is having right over the property of your uncle. consult a local lawyer if necessary.
