Father's Service Book - rti related

Hi Friends,

I wrote APNPDCL to get a photocopy of my father's Service Book. They gave reply stating that the service book is of no public interest and they are not bound to give xerox copy of my father's service book.

My question is, under RTI , as a son, do I have right to get a photocopy of my father's service book; if so, what proof is to be attached to show a father-son relationship legally.

Thanks in advance.

You can get it through RTI application. As a son you have  every right to collect it.

why your father himself does not demand the same ever without exercising RTI.

Ramachary sir,

Thanks for ur message

Actually, I attached SSC memo showing father-son relation asking for photocopy of my father's service book, but they declined stating that it is of no public interest.  now, my query, does the SSC memo suffice as a proof for a father-son relationship or is there any other alternative.  i want to go for a second appeal now as it is declined.

please clarify....

my father got separated from us many years ago, he got divorce from my mother....this is for your info..........

Thanks in advance
