What is your problem in calling India as India similar to as you call yourself as "sharad malhotra"?

You can search either in Google or en Wikipedia for more explanation.  Because of the 'Indus" river, the place where it flows is called India since generations.  The "Sindhu"  river has become "Indus".  No more questions further on where is that  India now when most of the then land is in Pakistan etc.

Kindly find out and inform us as well.

The official name of the Republic of India was derived from the Sanskrit name 'Sindhu' that referred to Indus River. By the time the Persians conquered the then Indian subcontinent and Greece in 5th century BCE, "Sindhu" became 'Hindus' to mark the land of Hindus. From the Greek Herodotus 'Hindus' evolved into Indos and made its first ever appearance in Old English in 9th century. 

Finally in 17th century as Indos made way to modern English the name India came into existence.
