Is POA to be compulsorily registered?

Dear All,

Does a General POA have to be compulsorily registered in Gujarat ? Will a Notarised POA be legally valid if it is not registered?

The POA holder has been granted the rights to sell/gift/mortgage the property.

Thanks!

The POA shall be compulsorily registered, when the rights are given to sell/gift/mortgage of the immovable property. It is compulsory for relatives/non-relatives. If the POA is not registered, it is not legally valid or enforceable.
