Payment of wages

Hi,

I'm with one of the software firms. Post joining i realised that the payday is 7th of the month and not last day of the month. As per the act it is fine, however from software companies perspective it is not. Is there any provision in the act, perhaps under software schedules, the company shld pay the salaries on last day of the month and not 7th of subsequent month. Thanx

NO. Some companies, as a practice pay the salary on the last day or even 10 days in advance (20th) for convenience.

this is the legal provision that the employer has to pay wages to the employees upto seventh of the next month and in case there are 1000 or employees the employer has to pay the wages to employees upto tenth date of next month. Any employer can pay wages before these dates as these dates are the last dates of payment and these are not the starting dates of payments.
