Power of attorney

My father has a flat in a cooperative housing society which he wants to sell. He wants to give me the power of attorney for me to sell the said flat and complete all procedures needed by the seller. I understand that a General power of attorney on Rs.500 stamp paper needs to be executed. My question is do I need to get the power of attorney registered ? or would the notarized power of attorney be sufficient for me to execute the deal on behalf of my father?

You need to have a special power of attorney to sell the flat i and that should be registered before sub registrar.
