Registration of property (Second Sales flat)

We were looking for a second sales flat and have found one and have applied for bank loan.  The owner of the flat has the original sale deed registered in his wife's name.  The original sale deed previous to this ie showing the undivided share of his flat from the builder (Sale deed between the land owner and the builder) is missing.  Have approached the builder for the same.  My loan has been sanctioned in the bank and the bank is expecting the original sale deed (between the land owner and the builder) to disburse the loan amount.

Builder had agreed to check whether it is in his possession.  But what would be procedure if that deed is not found?.  Can we apply for another registered copy, after publishing about the loss in the newspapers?

Can anyone brief me about the procedure involved in this?

Apply for the certified copy to the Sub registrar of the concerned area.  You will get it easily.

Dear Friend,

You have a two choice.

1. You can publish a Public Notice in Local news paper for loss of original copy of Sale Deed.

2. You can also apply before the registrar of the registration offcie for copy of sale deed.
