Dear Sir,
We have a property for sale in Bangalore. One agent said he has a client who's ready and asked us for our account number to send the advance amount. He promised to revert back to us in one month. Since more than 2 months he didnt revert and said his client is gone to Dubai and will revert.
Another client who was interested in the mean time approached and was settled a deal with him. This agent somehow came to know that we are selling to another client and there by with the help of a local lawyer has sent us a RPAD notification that we have to appear before the local court on 30th June.
We donot want anyone's hard earned money and also advised him to provide his account number and will return the money back to him, but he didnt provide an chosen the method of sending us this notification.
Is this legal? What is the idea behind and do we need to consider this notification serious or just threatening.
Awaiting for your sincere reply as we have never gone through any such proceedings before.
