Why not banks start taking thumb impressions on cheques ?

thumb identification is being used as a biometric safety password even in computers .

also,if you know any realtime case history of thumb impression imitation,please mention here for others.

Who will match the thumb impression during clearing? Software controlled? Please highlight, anything is available presently.

This is perhaps a very good idea but do not you think that Bank may know these idea and intentionally they are not implementing it. The reason may we do not know but it may be impracticable.

I believe it is a technical limitation. MICR instruments might not be able to cope up with that. However the most current image recognitions should be able to accomodate it.
