Would like to know the process and a guidance from a lawyer in Bangalore. The accident happened on a highway where the person jumped on to the highway to cross the road. Kindly advice on the process to be followed.

As per your concern let me inform you that there is a particular option of "Lawyer's" on this website itself from where you can find a suitable lawyer from Bangalore itself regarding your matter.

However, I've laid down the descripttion of section 304(a) of the Indian Penal Code 1860 down below for your perusal, do have a look for better understanding.
Basically, section 304(a) IPC deals with "Causing death by negligence".

This section states that —
"Whoever causes the death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide, shall be punished with imprisonment of either descripttion for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both".

This section in simple sense states if any person does any act with such negligence or rashness that it tends to lead to the death of another person, shall be held liable u/s this section for causing death of a person due to negligence.
