Your lawyer seems to be right. You need not to give any offer to her, giving any offer means you are ready to give something and she will think that she may get good deal in future. Its your call how to handle because it will depends upon your priorities if your priority is remarriage obviously you cannot be stubborn.

If your priority is something else then you can take strong stand. When my wife take initiative for amicable settlement and ask for any amount my words were " I'll think " but i never replied and now she is saying not wanted single paise just divorce me " my reply : I'll think".

If the husband is willing to maintain her wife and the same has been denied by wife without any proper cause, then the wife is disentitled for interim-maintenance.

But you yourself filed divorce case, so this option is not available to you.
