Can i ask the witness to give his deposition during cross in writing?

The witness CW1 is not trustworthy witness. He gave false 161 statement to police, he gave different version on same issue to the Karnataka Human Rights Commission reply to police typed in word document and he signed on the letter under authorized signature. Now he will appear in court to give his statement during cross-examination while contradiction will be pointed out. Further, can I ask him to give his deposition during cross-examination in writing with his signature will the magistrate/PO permit it?

Whenever a witness is examined and or cross examined the statement is recorded in court and he signs his  statement in court. You can get simply the certified copy of the witness statement.

Regarding  the statement u/s 161 crpc ;The court drew attention to the fact that The “statement under Section 161 Cr.PC is Inadmissible in Evidence and cannot be Relied Upon For Conviction”, as reiterated by Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case Parvat Singh vs. State of Madhya Pradesh in Criminal Appeal No.374/2020.ents
