The society can be made vicariously liable to the accidental death of the sweeper.
It is always better to properly compensate the family members and arrive at a compromise situatiion in order to avoid legal consequences.

Who must compensate our MC members or contributions from all members of the society.

The society or the association as an entity should enter into compromise, however the contribution towards compensation can be collected from the members of the association.

The employer (Contractor in instant case) has to compensate LRs of the employee.

Apart from above,LR's of deceased seeeper may claim compensation under provisions of Fatal Accident Claim Act from Maharastra Electricity Board and Municipal Corporation.

Agreeing with above, I would add that in case the members do not contribute funds [they will argue that it is duty of contractor as most of the memebrs are not aware of the responsibility of Principal employer], the the executive members will have to pay from their own pocket.
