Father threatening me

Hello Advisors,

My father  settled me his self-earned property to me. Because I spent most of the amount I earned to my family, i.e., my father and aunt. There is no restriction in the settlement deed. It says I can absolutely use the settled property. That property is rented and I have some financial commitments (all because of my father) so last month I took the rent from that property. Now my father threatens me that he will go to police station and complain about me. What shall I do now?

Thanks,

Shiv

Dear Shiv Kumar,

On execution of registered settlement deed in your favour, right, title and interest over the said property was transferred to u absolutely.  Now, as a owner, it is ur right to enjoy the profits like rent etc. from out of it.

Question of police complaint does not arise.

Anyhow, it is a matter between u and ur father (who settled his property to U), don't waste ur time and money by approaching police station and courts.  Settle the matter amicably.
