Illegal unauthorised street vendors

Government has evicted illegal unauthorised street vendors below the flyover.
now those vendors are roaming here and there in search of employment.
It is illegal to occupy unauthorised street access, but they pay municipality tax for cleaning garbage and Govt itself construct one organic shop below the flying bridge. Please do let us know what can be done for rehabilitation of livelihood.

 Hello Sir

In this case unauthorised street vendor’s right to life envisaged under Article 21 of the Constitution of India is affected. Forcible eviction of hawkers without any prior notice is infringement of their right enshrined under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. In the case of Olga and others v. Bombay Municipal Council, the Court observed that no person can live without the means of living, that is the means of livelihood.

They can also get in touch with Vending committees formed under Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014. The Act aims to protect the rights of urban street vendors and to regulate street vending activities and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Further you can also get in touch with local NGOs and social workers who can help you to rehabilitate the unauthorised street vendors.

I hope this resolves your query.
