Interim stay

At the stage of filing writ petition Interim stay  has been granted to the petitioner company  by Hon'ble High for  indefinite period and the writ petion is yet to be admitted  which is pending since last one year.

my query is  such indefinite period is valid while granting stay before admitting the writ petion finnaly?

also suggest what is to be done for vacating interim stay as counter and rejoinder affidavits had also been exchanged long back.

Facts are not adequate to give appropriate advice but interim stay can be vacated under order xxxix rule 4 of CPC
