Name change: shorten the name

Hello All,

My son is 4yrs old and I have registered his name in GHMC in SURNAME MIDDLE_NAME GIVEN_NAME format.  In view of some complications that have faced recently with my very lengthy name, I have decided to shorten his name to SURNAME GIVEN_NAME format.  Does this requires the same process as it takes for a legal name change or is there any easy way for this kind of requests?
