Occupancy certificate laws

Dear Forum members.

 

I heard that the occupancy certificate is mandatory for the building more than Groud+3 floors.

Can some one please shed som elight on this.

Occupancy Certificate (OC) is issued by Civic Authorities (like BMC), after the builder certifies in Appendix XV of the Development Control Rules, that the building is built in conformity to the plans sanctioned by the civic authority.

 

However, OC, is not applicable to NON-Civic areas, eg. village areas, farm area, forest area etc....
