Payment of gratuity (amendment) bill 2017

Pl find attached Payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Bill 2017 introduced in Lok Sabha today.  The following amendments are proposed:

1. To empower Central Govt to notify period of maternity leave to female employees as deemed to be in continuous service in place of existing 12 months
2. To remove maximum ceiling of Rs.10 lacs and to empower Central Govt to notify the same in notification from time to time.
