Kulveer,

Choosing a "good" lawyer and a doctor is as easy as for the lion to climb up a tree.

Get references, meet them personally, discuss case with them (on payment of consultation fee) and then decide.

Don't go blindly.

Take Gyaan from LCI and move around in the court and ask those questions regarding HMA, 498A, DV etc to the various lawyers over there. Trust me you will find whole lot of them, some of them even promising quick solutions, but unfortunately no clear/definative answers to even those questions for which you have the answers. Do this test and try exercise and make a careful observation, and then take a call. Wish you luck

Regards,

Rohit

The Bar Council of India under Rule 36 prohibits advocates for advertising..

"Rule 36. An advocate shall not solicit work or advertise, either directly or indirectly, whether by circulars, advertisements, touts, personal communications, interviews not warranted by personal relations, furnishing or inspiring newspaper comments or producing his photographs to be published in connection with cases in which he has been engaged or concerned. His sign-board or name-plate should be of a reasonable size. The sign-board or name-plate or stationery should not indicate that he is or has been President or Member of a Bar Council or of any Association or that he has been associated with any person or organisation or with any particular cause or matter or that he specialises in any particular type of worker or that he has been a Judge or an Advocate General"

If this rule holds good as on date then I feel some advocates are going against the rules set by the bar council.
