Rti act

Hi,

I am one of 5 legal heirs to my father. My father passed away few months back. He held a bank account for which one of my other brothers got a cheque signed by my father(my father suffered from dementia) got a pay order made and deposited it in another account for which I do not have the details. However I have the details of the original bank account from which the pay order was issued. Can I request the original bank to provide details of where the pay order was deposited as the clearing would have gone through the original bank. Will this information be available under the Right to Information Act 2005 to me as a legal heir of my father??

No need of RTI, You can inquire as a legal heir of your father, producing the legal heir certificate to the bank manager. After the death of your father it is bank's duty to provide his account details and balance.
