A police officer is complainant in a crl case & he himself conducted investigation & filed challan u/s 173 Crpc,what is evidentery value/impact of such investigation in which complainant(Police officer himself is Investigating officer)Plz suggest with citations.Thanks

the police officer can be a complainant.
but he shall not investigate the same, under any circumstances, if he investigate, that can be brought before the court of law, for the appropriate just.
you can consult the local advocate for further proceedings.

If a complainant investigates the case, his evidence becomes suspicious. The investigation can not be called as impartial. Reliability of the case becomes doubtful.But it is not always fatal. Those are infirmities, when considered with other circumstances, may help the accused.
