The case is usually filed at the place where the crime was committed. Generally women file the case at the court or Police Station near their home town for their advantage. Yes she can lodge complaint where she is currently residing.

Yes. Definitely she can file. Though FIR can be filed in the police station wherein crime has taken place but in such cases, the crime of mental harassment is continuous even in the parental house o =f the victim so she can file FIR from her place of current residence also.

Many SHOs without applying their mind transfer the FIR u/s 498A filed at the place of the residence of the woman, citing that no crime occurred at her home. This results in the accused getting undue advantage of influencing the investigation.
They are not considering the continuous menatal harrassment as correctly pointed out by Rajkumar ji.
