Should India abolish Death Penalty?
But deterrent theory with death penalty has no effect in controlling the acts that you mentioned? As long as poverty is there in the country death penalty will not control all those acts?

my personal views are that the basic idea behind imprisonment is that a person reflects about his misdeeds and repents during his stay in prison and it transforms a man, but in reality it is not happening so if death penalty is awarded to a die hard criminal who may commit crimes after coming out of prison, it would purge the society and it should be welcome.

That death penalty was there from the beginning but does it really work as to reduced crime in the society. The fact that crime is increasing day by day in the country does not reflect the working of the provisions, in other words, deterrent theory does not reduced crime nor will it prevent a man from committing crime. As long as there is poverty, injustice and violation of human rights there will be crime and terrorist etc. We have to see the acts of crime in different relevant aspects and not from the deterrent theory.
