Sir,
I am a lecturer in a degree college & I want to clear my doubt, I have to take casual leave from 20th Dec to 24th Dec and from 25th our winter vacation will start till 2nd. Jan.2014,Please clear :
Will my leave be treated for 4 days or till 2nd. Jan.?

You will not be able to combine your casual leave or other leave with your normal annual vacation leave. Therefore in your case, you will be considered to have been on leave from 20 Dec. till you join back.
However, you will be able to take leave just after your vacation, in which case only those days which are beyond your vacation period will be treated as leave and not the entire vacation period + your leave.
In order to avoid the problem, it will be advisable for you to avoid taking leave just before your vacation leave starts or if there is necessity, then ensure that at least one day prior to your vacation period, you join duty.

You are aware of the rules. You are simply asking this question. Your department people might have told you that clubbing of Casual Leave is not allowed. They are right.
