Hello sir.. Sir I am preparing for civil services and it is going quite well. But sir last year during my college days in gujarat i along with my friends got caught by our prof. consuming alcohol and were handed over to police and an fIR was filled against us.we were released on bail after 12 hrs.and last month i got a call from police station regardind our hearing in lokadalat but I didn't show as i was worried about the conviction that it might create problem ... I just wanted to ask that if i clear the civil services in near future will i be rejected??? or it is just a minor case..or shall i go and accept the guilt and get convicted before the selection

Your candidature will not get rejected. As you rightly understood, it was only a minor case. Whether you should accept your guilt or not you have to consult a local lawyer and then act accordingly.

Whether a Medical Test was Done for your Consumption Of Alcohol. If Not your chances of Acquittal would be Strong.Consult a Local Good Advocate You should have attended the Lok Adalat where the matter would have ended.

If you accept your guilt court may fine you or may award punishment. If you defend the case you can have a chance of acquittal. Consult local lawyer.

yes sir medical test was done and that's why i am not sure of acquittal..if i go and accept the guilt before my selection will it create any problem..and how will they come to know about my conviction in any case..is there any centralised system or any other system in place or will it go unnoticed...plz guide me on this as i am not at all aware of this law system and i did consult 2-3 local lawyers in court but they were not convincing enough and had mixed advice..

It depends on the usual procedures followed by the court in your jurisdiction on such cases, if the court decides to do away with fine alone, you are safe, confirm this issue with the local advocate and proceed as per his advise.
