Am i doing is correct ?

(Querist) 20 March 2014 This query is : Resolved
I am a Nepali Citizen, however i have lived so long (19 years) in India, studied and now working since 8 years.
I have a pan card... paid taxes, have a bank account and nowhere its mentioned am Nepali.

Now when am planning to go abroad i am planning to get my passport and visa from Nepal as its easier as lot to me by all than going for acquired citizenship for India

I have applied for passport from Nepal but now am worried during my visa interviews do i have to provide bank documents mine don't say am Nepali it rather quotes my Pan card . I just read foreign national pay taxes differently ...... Am so confused......Am in a hurry.... Please suggest i don't wanna be illegal and loose my opportunity to go abroad.....

What is the best to do.... You can ask me more questions

Thanks

Foreign national can hold Indian PAN Card.
However this does not mean you can show yourself as Indian national. Better show yourself as Nepali national with necessary documents. Holding of Indian PAN card is of no hindrance.

There is an issue here....hope you all will give your views so that i can correct things on time.

Thinking i would never need Nepali citizenship and being in India for so long i had applied and i got my citizenship and hence the pan.... all bank accounts all say am Indian......

But now that am applying for passport from Nepal and visa from Nepal with this turn against me .....

how can i make changes within time ....

i don't wanna do things illegal.....

You can not keep dual citizenship. You have to relinquish at least Nepali citizenship if you want keep Indian one.

I am reading that if i relinquish my citizenship from Indian i might me in trouble of holding dual citizenship so rather when i get my passport from Nepal I should go back to Nepal and renounce at the Nepal embassy......

You are the experts of this field... I am really not sure what will be best course of action. Kindly suggest so that i do not get in to trouble.

Approach the office from which Indian Citizenship was given to you.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 22 March 2014
The experts have properly advised you to surrender your Indian citizenship as well as the passport, apply afresh the Nepali passport and other formalities in Nepal. You are a Nepali national hence it is always better to hold that country's identification.

thank you all for your quick response. I do not have my passport from Nepal. I only have my citizenship from Nepal. Shall i wait for my passport or i should just renounce the Indian citizenship right away. I am residing in West delhi,is anyone aware where can i renounce this,am finding no luck on the internet .

Thank you all

It is better consult a prudent lawyer dealing with such cases in Delhi or any consultant who are dealing with passport issues and proceed as per their advise.
