Any Oath or xcode of ethics for Advocates

Sir,
Please guide/pls do not get prejudiced,I have nothing against advocates.. I am senior citizen fighting for justice for unnecessarily being harassed in civil matter.

Now in a case(before pricipal judge), I have paid around Rs 10,000/- to a lawyer to file application to expedite the case as Sr.Citizen. He is dilly dallying without any reason.(His father was PP).The case is in initial stage.
I am stuck in spite of several requests he is not acceding, taken full fees hence cannot change the advocate. What to do? Please guide

Register a complain with Bar Council of the State.

I agree. You cn also go to consumer forum. You can even change your advocate and not even a single penny shall have to be incurred by you for engaging further counsel as you have just to move to CJM of your area to provide you free legal assistance ebing a senior citizen.

Bar Council Rules strictly prescribe that While conducting a case, a lawyer has a duty to be fair not only to his client . Since these ethics are being flouted as suggested by Mr.Arun, you can file a complaint to the State Council and even get your grievances redressed through Consumer Forum.

Unfortunately there are these type of advocates who bring a bad reputation to the entire legal fraternity.It is really a difficult situation as U must have paid in cash. Apart from approaching Bar Council, I suggest U approach the court first for release of the advocate if he refuses to return the papers.

But without knowing the facts from other side how can blame the advocate , there may be some stages which are beyond the control of any body.
