Brother's in laws blackmailing

my brothers got married in dec 2007.due to some problems my bhabi left us in oct2011 they dont have any child.we all are staying together in our home which is in karnal(haryana) and bhabi went to her parents place in delhi.my brother and we didnt even contact her from last 6-7 months we dont even know what she is doing now a days.they don't have idea but bhabi has not returned home from last five days(gone somewhere),phone has been switched off from last five days.........missing complained is registered in delhi police station and karnal police station.

now all my brother's inlaws blackmailing us that they will file up a kidnapping case and demanding a healthy amount of money from us(15-20lakhs).its going on from last 2 days please state initial step if they file up in coming 2-3 days..

or what should be our ways if anything happen wrong with bhabi(we all hope GOD will not do this)brother's inlaws also blackmailing for the same........her chacha came today and said he will file up a case at least you all have to go jail for some time that damages your social values...
he said that she left many letters and always keep them in her car,bedroom....those letters will drag you in court he shows us photostat in those letters she wrote numbers of alligation on my family,papa,mummy...what to do...lawyers in local are suggesting ideas to papa nd relatives..plz reply as soon as possible

1. You have already registered a missing case.

2. The fact that her brothers are asking for money, speaks volumes to the fact that all this is just a ploy to extort money.

3. Try recording their voice or even video the next time that they do it.

4. Pursue the missing case proactively with the police.
