Hello,
I would like to seek guidance in the matter of installation of CCTV cameras in parking area of the society and outside the main door.
My vehicle was damaged while it was parked in my Stilt parking which is on the backside of the building. It seems as if someone has used a bamboo stick or a iron rod to damage the vehicle. On questioning the watchman, he said he is not aware as he was in front side of the building. Due to this, I plan to install CCTV cameras in the stilt parking and outside my main door for security reasons. I have following questions:
1) Can the society object to my installation of the CCTV cameras in parking or outside my main door?
2) What measures should be taken to ensure that this process is smooth?
3) Are there any other permissions to be taken e.g. Police or BMC before I proceed to install the CCTV cameras?
Regards,

[1] According to the Bye-Laws of CHS, a member parks his/her vehicle in the compound/stilt parking space at his own risk. The society can not be held responsible for any damage to the vehicle.
[2] Permission of the Society managing committee is necessary for installation of a CCTV in the compound or stilt parking area.
[3] You may file a complaint with the police station about the damage to your car get an n.c. and show the n.c. to the society managing committee and request them to allow you to install CCTV at the stilt parking apace as well as at your main door for security. They will probably permit you.
[3] However in case of refusal you can approach the Dy.Registrar of CHS and explain the matter to him.

Thank you Kishor for clarifying the queries with regard to the CCTV installation. Appreciate you taking time and responding to our query.
We have filed a complaint with the police station and have also submitted a letter to the society managing committee requesting for installation.
