cheque bounce

Hi
Pls help.One of the cheque has bounced and i have got the information about it yesterday only. The cheque bounced on 06.05.14. Up till when can i send legal notice for payment to the other party. Also is it necessary that it should be from a lawyer only...

It is one month from the date of receipt of information from your banker anout the dishonour of cheque, not from the date when it actually got dishonoured.

Yes within 30 days from the date of information from bank. Not necessary to be issued from lawyer only, you can issue also , 15 days time is to be given for payment.

You can issue a legal demand notice by yourself, it is not necessary that only a lawyer should issue such notice. Go ahead.
