A member in our society has requested for a NOC to open a Current Account with the bank as she has taken up to professional training. The session will not be held in the flat but at various company locations. As secretary can I issue the NOC to a self employed professional. What is the procedure and what are the implications if any? Will her flat be considered a commercial premises?

For opening bank account why NOC is needed?
There are certain professional activities that are allowed to be carried out from home. If proposed activity in home is as per allowed activities, society cant object.
Society does not have any statutory powers and is merely a service organisation set up to look after common property and to provide maintenance services.

As office bearer you should avoid issuing any permission which is against the bye - laws or otherwise.

I think it is not NOC, it is a introducer consent for opening a new bank account.

Can a housing society charge a landing fee from a member who rents out his flat?
