A shareholder who is holding substantial shareholding in a company, which statutory records of such company he may inspect and of which statutory records he may ask for certified copies.

He is entitled to inspect the minutes of general meetings, register of shareholders and share transfer,index of members, copies of all returns filed under section 159 read with section 160 of the Companies Act 1956.

Agree with the experts. Further, a shareholder need not hold substantial shares for this, the Companies Act 1956 says any member of the company allowed these information. Further copies of MOA & AOA can also be requested.

As a member is having access to all the records of the company except that treated as confidential. He can take copies at cost. Send letter to the Company secretary for inspection.
