I was working with a company. About 6 months back, I resigned and started a business. At the time of my exit, I had filed up my forms for withdrawal of PF. However, the form was rejected by the EPFO. Now that the company is shutting down, how can I make the application for closing my PF amount?

1. it is important WHY the EPFO rejected your application? (reasons for the rejection)
2. company can not be shut down unless and until all its' dues are paid.
so rush to the lawyers office with
i. your application for withdrawal of PF
ii. acknowledgement of your application
iii. details about rejection of your
application by the EPFO

there are prescribed forms by the ACT for withdrawal of PF amount. you need to fill up the form and submit the same to the EPFO.
but if your employer has not paid the amount of PF with Government, it is a fraud, you need to initiate legal proceedings after legal notice.

You have not quoted the reason of rejection by the EPFO. How to know who is at fault?

I do not know the reason why it was rejected. I found the rejected status on the EPFO site. I believe they will be sending the rejection letter by post. However, by the time it reaches me the company would no longer exist.
I had made the application through the employer upon quitting the job.

Company remains there or not, you can send your application duly attested by the manager of a bank.

Sir, can I apply for the PF if the company has already shut down? If yes, how?

Definitely, you can. PF credits are your own money.
